Phantom Crew — SMS Policy
This page documents Phantom Crew's SMS program in the format that A2P 10DLC carriers and reviewers expect. For the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, see /privacy and /terms.
Program description
Phantom Crew is a software-as-a-service tool that funeral homes use to coordinate the staff who work each service — casket bearers, livery drivers, clergy, dressmen, and other contracted personnel. When a funeral home director assigns a staff member to a specific service, Phantom Crew sends one transactional SMS containing the decedent's name, the event type (wake / funeral / committal), the date and time, the role being asked, and a tap-to-confirm/decline link.
Who receives the SMS
Recipients are funeral home staff and contractors who already have a written or roster-based working relationship with the funeral home that is adding them. No consumer outreach. No marketing lists. No purchased contact data.
Opt-in flow (verifiable double opt-in)
- Director adds staff: a funeral home director enters the staff member's name, role, and mobile number into Phantom Crew's bench.
-
Consent-request SMS: Phantom Crew automatically sends
a one-time message to the staff member's number. The exact text is:
Hi [Name] — [Funeral Home Name] would like to add you to their staffing call list for upcoming services. Reply YES to confirm and receive service-assignment texts (typically 2-5/week, only when you're scheduled). Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply.
- Recipient confirms: the staff member must reply YES (or Y, YEAH, CONFIRM, OK). Their consent status changes to "confirmed" in our database, with timestamp recorded.
- Only then can the funeral home's director trigger a service-assignment SMS to that staff member. Without the YES reply, Phantom Crew refuses to send any further SMS to that number.

Opt-out and support keywords
- STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT, END, OPTOUT, REVOKE): immediately and permanently unsubscribes the recipient from all Phantom Crew SMS. We send a single confirmation reply, then no further messages.
- HELP (or INFO, SUPPORT): returns a description of the service and a support email.
- START: re-opts in a previously unsubscribed recipient.
No third-party sharing
Phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are not sold, rented, traded, or otherwise shared with any third party for marketing, advertising, or any unrelated purpose. They are transmitted only to Twilio Inc. for the sole purpose of SMS delivery.
